Welcome to the Richard Forrest portfolio website.

Welcome & Inspiration

Thank you for your interest in my work.

Nature is a constant source of wonder and inspiration to me and when I am in it, I feel at peace…and this is what I hope to bring others in my work. I hope you enjoy viewing  my paintings as much as I did in creating them.

My God and My Art

I am often asked why there are Bible references on my paintings. It is simply this: my life and my work are first about Christ Jesus and it is He who gave the skill and ability to paint. It is my way of thanking Him and giving Him the credit for my art. I feel it is not me…but God thru me.

I feel everyone should have at least one “original” work of art. It is for this reason that I offer a limited number of reproductions.
– commissions welcome-

Here is my portfolio. For further information on these or any other works, please feel free to contact me.

Artist: Richard Forrest

Born and raised in mid-west Michigan, I attended Kendall College of Art & Design where I received my BFA. I worked in the field of graphic design for several years after graduation. However, during these years in graphics, and although I found it to be very satisfying work, my heart was longing to paint. In ’93 I made the move to beautiful Traverse city, MI to pursue a career in fine art and painting, where I still reside today. After all these years of painting my surroundings…I am still inspired.

It was in May, 2000 that I married a beautiful women, Theresa..who keeps me grounded. We have a wonderful Golden retriever and a cat and all of us enjoy the outdoor life that Northern Michigan has to offer. I am blessed to be able to work from my home where my studio/gallery is.

If you’d like to inquire about purchasing one of my pieces or commissioning a new painting for your home or building, please do not hesitate to call or email me today.
